Fall Beckons To Me

I know that colors like these are just around the corner here in East Tennessee. It won't be long now, and I feel it in the air. I love the beginning of a new season. It seems as if one season isn't quite ready to give up and the new season is dancing a teasing dance beckoning me to come and play. I find that during this time of year I am anxious to switch to more fall menu ideas. Tonight we will be eating White Bean Chili and I am going to try a new apple bread recipe for dessert. If it is a hit, I will post the recipe soon. I am also getting back in the mood to bake breads again. There is something about the change from summer to fall that draws me back into the kitchen to play. Perhaps it is the fact that the canner is put away until summer once again forces it back to the top of my priority list and stove. I can already feel the slower pace that a new fall brings to our house. The days are getting a bit shorter which causes us all to settle in at night a bit easier. Yes, I am ready for a new season. How about you?

grace and peace,
julie

I can't believe that it's fall already. I know that you're enjoying the slowing from the hectic-ness of summer, but I feel like we've just barely been able to enjoy it! We nearly had frost the other day already!

Oh, and btw. I found a GREAT link on butchering chickens. Not that you like it, or anything. But good to point your readers to! :)

Oh, and just so you know, they also have other good pages on this blogger's website--chicken tractors, apple cider presses, etc. Great to check out regardless!

Oh, I am feeling it, it has been cool here the past week so I have been baking and burning pumpkin candles, lol, I love the fall but not so much the cold, snow and ice that follows, ;)

Carmen,
I think fall is my favorite too!

Paige,
Thanks for sharing your link. I am heading over there in just a minute to check it out!!

Cynthia,
I agree!!!! Your cinnamon rolls and a hot cup of coffee would be lovely on a fall morning.

Lynn,
I guess your state hasn't heard of global warming!!! (HA HA) I just saw that the Farmer's Almanac says it will be a cold winter for lots of us. Hope your ready up there!!!

bsadams,
I forgot I had Pumpkin candles. I think I will go dig them out! Thanks for the reminder.

There is nothing like fall in East TN! I love love love it!

There are just too many pine trees in South Alabama where I grew up so no color changes hardly and honestly, there are 4 seasons in South AL, summer, summer, summer, and winter......

How about the cool summer (esp. July) we've had here?!?! I LOVE it!
