A Thankful Heart

Life can be so hectic some times. Even when we purpose to live a more simpler lifestyle, the busyness of life can become consuming. There are days that I find myself thinking only of the next thing on the seemingly never ending chore list. Yesterday evening found Michael and I sitting outside together chatting about the next thing on the list. After a moment, we stopped talking and just sat quietly. A few minutes later he looked at me and with a small smile on his face he said, "I guess just sitting and looking at the farm is all part of farming too". I do believe he is right. We need to take the time to just sit and be still. The longer I sat there the more my mindset started to change from all the things that need to be done to wow, look what has already been accomplished. With those thoughts, my heart was overwhelmed with thanksgiving to the Lord.

"Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

I love to sit out and watch the trees wave in the wind, watch the animals grazing, watch the lambs jumping and running. It is a very satisfying part of farming. =)

Sandra,
It is beautiful here. You should come on down and just enjoy the beauty of it all.
This picture was taken at the end of our road. I wish I knew what the blue flowers are called in this picture. This is a field that our neighbor cuts for hay.
