The Girl

After the excitement of yesterday's news, I felt like my old self again.  I was ready to be creative so I grabbed my camera, my daughter, and an old chair and headed to the field.  The light outside was just about perfect, and we had about 20 minutes to do a quick photo shoot before the light changed.

It was nice to spend a few minutes with Hope doing something fun.

We had a chance to laugh and talk a bit, but she was really in a hurry to get back home.  Her daddy and brothers were loading up the fishing stuff to head to the pond to catfish for the evening.  She didn't want to miss the outing.  When we got home, she quickly ripped off her dress  and replaced the beauty with an old pair of basketball shorts and a ponytail.  She was ready to fish.

I like that about her. She isn't afraid to wear a dress and be feminine, but she is also very comfortable in old shorts and converses with her hair pulled back. She fits in well with both worlds.

She asked me what I expected since after all she did have four brothers!  I guess the young lady has a valid point there!

My life has been so insane, I missed whatever good news you shared. I need to catch up. My hubby's been unemployed for almost 3 months and will be going in the Air Guard. We just found out he'll be gone for 6 months when it's time. My brain is going 100 miles a min. lol

Your daughter is beautiful! Is that your son in the picture too? He's cute! Having a daughter that's almost 17 is now making me notice boys her age for some reason. hahaha Oh and I miss catfish :( Idaho people don't know what they're missing! You just made me hungry lol

Carmen,
Thanks so much!!!

Kay,
Yes, all of those boys know a thing or two about shot guns and aren't afraid to use them. Just for funzies they remind her of it all the time! When the time comes for boys to call upon her, I am afraid that her brothers will have something to say about that with shotguns in hand!

Krsity Quinn,
I can relate to the whole unemployment thing. I am excited about his decision to join the Air Guard, but sorry to hear about his deployment. I will be praying for you in that area.
Yes, that is her brother in the picture with her. They look a lot alike. They are also close in age so people often think they are twins!
I'll make sure I eat a piece of catfish for you soon!
