Husband Comes to My Rescue

I love my husband's Droid phone. He uses it to surf the web while he deer hunts.   Apparently he just found my latest post, which happened about 15 minutes ago, and decided to offer his help for my meal list.  I guess he panicked at the thought of eating fast food/pizza again this upcoming week.  Here are his ideas:

1.  Broccoli Soup and Sandwiches  (apparently broccoli soup by itself is an incomplete meal)
2.  Grilled Mushroom Swiss Burgers
3.  Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches with a good tomato (Where in the world does one find a good tomato in December)?
4.  Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies
5  Ravioli Casserole, Salad
6.  Chili Dogs
7.  Meatball Subs  (I am going to change that to Sausage and Peppers.  I just need a good bottle of wine to make this dish).
8. Grilled Pork Chops and Veggie Side Dishes
9. Chicken and Dumplings

Notice Michael's meal list.  What does almost every meal contain?  MEAT... He doesn't even take the time to spell out what veggies sound good to him!  My men are truly carnivores!  I am just thankful for the ideas.  Any ideas that you may want to contribute, please feel free.  I still have several slots left for dinner for two weeks!

julie

LOL, love the *good tomato* bit and I agree, you can NOT find a good tomato in December:/ On your work days, something like pot roast in the crock pot would be a great idea. My DIL is still learning to cook so when I was in Hawaii I bought her a crock pot and she makes my chicken alfredo alot....just put skinless chicken breasts (I cut them in halves)add halved potatoes, and baby carrots, 2 jars of alfredo sauce and a bit of pepper, let cook on low 7-8 hrs. or on high 3-4:)you could even prep it all the night before.

Julie, I hope you are better? I felt led to at least try and help with ideas since your recipes have been such a hit at my house. Any easy and tasty dish is Poppy seed Chicken. 3 cooked chicken breasts, 1 1/2 cups sour cream, 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 2 stacks Ritz Crackers, crushed, 1 stick butter, melted, 1 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds. Mix sour cream and soup. Add chicken. Separately, mix melted butter, crackers, and poppy seeds. In baking dish, spread 1/2 chicken mixture, then top with 1/2 of the cracker mixture. Repeat layers. 350 degrees for approx. 30 min. My family loves this simple dish. Another easy favorite is crock pot corned beef served with cabbage. Alfredo tortellini is good with ham, also.

I LOVE this website--always new things to try and I feel like their ingredient lists aren't ridiculous or require a visit to a specialty store. They also have great veggie ideas on spicing things up again--Dan is also hard to convince to eat enough veggies!

The other place I like to go is this website...

They have the fastest bread ideas, and it really does taste great, just follow the directions closely at first until you get the hang of it. I bought the first book to get started, and I love it! Here's a pizza crust recipe as well!
