Enjoying the Season

The holidays are coming together nicely around here. We are keeping it simple and family oriented. I like that. We always do that for Christmas, but this year we are forced due to the budget. The nice thing for us is that most of our kids like the same thing so we can buy a gift for one child that all the other kids enjoy too. It gives us more bang for our buck that way. It has also created a heart of sharing with our kids. I never hear my kids say, "Hey, that's mine. You can't use it"!

Almost all of my Christmas shopping has been completed. Later this week I will be baking and assembling bread baskets to give to a few people. I have a few loaves of bread still tucked in the freezer to share as well. We don't do just one major holiday baking spree. Instead, we do something special every few days in the kitchen. We can enjoy holiday goodies throughout the month of December, and it gives me special time to enjoy with my kids. It is truly one of our cherished holiday memories for both me and the kids. One that I hope to continue with my grand kids some day.

By the way, I had several people ask me to add our "Dinner Menu" back on the right side. I didn't think people really cared about what we ate, but I had one person tell me that it helps her have ideas for making meals at her home.

I think this is one of your best photographs! It looks like it's out of a magazine!
