Technical Difficulty

I am experiencing frustrations beyond belief with trying to upload a new picture for a header on my blog.  I can't get the picture to fit the header space.  When we lived in our old house, I could try multiple pictures until I found one to fit because we had high speed Internet.  Our new house doesn't come with such conveniences.  We have satellite connection.  While I am thankful for Internet, it is still unbelievably slow.  When I upload more than two pictures to my blog, I have time to take a shower and get ready for my day while that upload is taking place.  I need to figure out how to change the width of the picture in the html.  I know this has to do with the amount of pixels, and I know it is accomplished in the layout.  I don't have a clue as to what to change the pixel size too.  If you have any advice, help, or just sympathy, please leave me a comment.  I am starting to get frustrated.

julie

Hey Jules,
While I am unable to help you technically - I can offer you a cup a tea through blogger-land and an ear for you to unload all of your frustrations. Miss you my dearest friend - wish you were sitting in my tea room right now - or I was lounging at your home being served macaroni and cheese with a side of gizzards and lima beans!
Love you,
Concetta

Kay,
You made me laugh!!! Thanks for the smiles.

Concetta,
In your honor and at my husband's wishes, I went out last night in this new land to find gizzards. I couldn't locate any of the nasty little pieces of chicken flesh. too bad so sad....I could still make macaroni and cheese and lima beans. All of those ingredients are sitting in my pantry and freezer as we speak just waiting for your arrival. I would love to sip a cup of tea with you this morning in your tea room. And while we are at it, do you think you could add some baby cheesecakes to go with that tea? I like mine topped with cherries. I miss you too. did Ahrianah give you my phone number, address, and email address from Facebook? If not, let me know and I will get them to you again. I saw Tanya Wilbon's Facebook pictures of Fred's birthday party. As I looked through all the pictures, I saw so many people that we know from Florida. Of course you and TJ were there...made me miss everybody..escpecially you and Lisa....and of course TJ and Randy! Did you know that I have never seen your youngest child??? What do you plan to do about that????!!!
love,
julie

I am laughing my friend - I tried to come and see you and you moved instead...if you don't want me to come to your home there are less drastic ways to go about it!!!
Send me your info to my email address - I am not on FB right now. That was a fun party - I made Banana Creme Supreme and it was gone in a flash!

Julie -- my daughter is a graphic designer, now in Pierre, SD. I sent her a link to your blog and asked if she could help. She probably can help you. Give her a call -- there's an hour time difference, she's on Central time -- phone 423-426-4400. She's on a phone interview now probably, but call her about 2:30 our time.

Willa,
I did call your daughter. While I was waiting for her to call me back, I started reading the help on blogger. I finally figured out how to change the html. Turns out I wasn't the only one to have this issue. Other people who have never had issues with their header experienced it to. It has something to do with the MINIMA template that I use. Thanks again for giving me her number. I appreciate you taking the time to do that!

Hey Julie,
I think your header looks great and it sounds like you solved your template issue. Way to go! When I need something resized, I use http://www.picnik.com/. It's really easy to use and FREE!
Have a great week,
